Sony BRAVIA KDL-32S3000 32" LCD TV

The Sony BRAVIA KDL-32S3000 is an exceptional HDTV. Highly regarded as probably best HDTV you can purchase at the 32" size, it is definetly worth the price. My previous HDTVs have been of the same technology type, LCD, and while they were both good, none of them matched the quality I'm getting from this Sony.

Build Quality

The KDL-32S3000 is built like a tank, as it should be from such a company like Sony. Finished in a nice matte black appearance, the KDL-32S3000 should go with just about any piece of equipment that you currently owned. The border trim is also a nice matte black, and it's great if your one who doesn't like the glossy, shiny finish some other TV companies use.

Picture Quality

The picture on this set is amazing. Sony's BRAVIA engine does a great job displaying HD content as well as SD content. With so many options to change within the settings, your sure to be able to calibrate the picture to your liking. The TV comes with three seperate picture modes: Standard, Cinema, and Vivid. Vivid is what the stores use to show off rich colors and overly bright backlight. Cinema gets you close to the same experience you get from theatre movie watching. All three are user configurable, and all three can be applied to each video input at different settings. The KDL-32S3000 has a remarkable 1600:1 contrast ratio, and 8,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, though the 1600:1 is the most important. With that, the colors are deep and rich, and very vibrant. When watching HD material, the visuals pop out as if they were 3-D. Also important to know if that this TV properly converts 1080i content to 720p, as many other TVs don't do it properly, but this Sony can. Overall you'll be hard pressed to find another 32" LCD HDTV that offers the same picture quality.

Sound quality

The Sony comes with 20W(10W per speaker)speakers, and they sound quite good. Though not as good as a dedicated speaker system, if all you had to use was the TVs speakers you won't be disappointed. Not all much to say but that they they provide crystal clear clarity and a good amount of bass.

Inputs

The KDL-32S3000 comes with a nice set of inputs for your viewing pleasure. Two HDMI inputs, two Component video inputs( which are capable of accepting a 1080p signal converting it to 720p ), S-Video, Composite input, RGB PC input, optical output.

Overall

I'm very satisfied with the Sony KDL-32S3000, the picture quality is literally amazing when fed an HD signal like Blu-ray movie or HD content on network TV shows. Some may say the price is a bit high, but you'll be sure to know that your not just buying from any company as Sony has been here for a long time. Once at home and calibrated, I assure you it'll all be worth it.
