The Bottom Line:
A truly superb TV for this size category, and perfect for our master bedroom.
We purchased this TV to replace an aging clunker in our master bedroom. I was looking at the 1080p sets, but the salesman at the store told me that for a 32" screen, as long as we were viewing it from at least 6 feet away, that we wouldn't notice the difference between a 1080p and a 780p, so why spend the extra money? I believe him. We have this TV set up on top of my dresser and view it from about 10 feet away, and the picture quality is stunning.
Even better, it has a virtual surround sound mode that throws the sound for the back channels of the side walls of our bedroom, and it really sounds great - just as if we had a full surround sound speaker setup in our bedroom.
It's very user friendly and I haven't had any issues with the controls.
It has all the current standard inputs - HDMI, component video, composite video, and standard coax cable. We are using our satellite receiver plugged into the coax input and our Sony DVD player plugged into the component video cables.
It looks like it would be easy to mount on a wall thanks to the guides for the wires to go up the back, but we have it set up on the stand.
The box wasn't too heavy and I was able to carry it upstairs myself without any problems. When I went to pick it up at the warehouse, I handed the foreman my receipt. He looked at it and said, "Oh, a little TV." Yes, I guess it's the season when everyone else is buying BIG TVs for the Super Bowl.
