Loved the TV for the first 15 months!

I purchased my XBR based on the great reviews in 2/09. Due to the price (over $2600) and reputation of Sony, I did not pay $500 for the extended warranty. 3 months after the 12 month warranty was up, the TV when turned on is black/dark on the right-hand side of the TV. This can last from 15 minutes to 45 minutes and is getting worse. Based on other complaints, this is a common problem with this TV. I have never paid this much money for a TV and have always been a fan of Sony. I am extremely disappointed in the life span of this TV and will not consider purchasing Sony again.
