The Bottom Line: If your looking for a mid priced 32 inch hdtv that delivers quality, and enjoyment, I think you would be very happy with this model.

We read a lot of reviews online before deciding the Sony 32L5000 was the model we wanted. We decided to purchase from our local Best Buy, and it was a great transaction. We use this tv in the living room as our primary tv.

I was a little worried from reading some reviews that the picture, and color quality might not be so great right out of the box, and some reviews had an issue with the sound quality. I'm happy to say that both the hd picture and sd/hd sound are simply fantastic! The sd picture loses a little sharpness of course, but thats not an issue for us as it's still a great picture. We have not had to do any color tweaking at all. Standard dvd's look great as well. We have Comcast cable service, and they provided component cables, instead of an hdmi cable. The hd picture is stunning!!

The picture brightness, and the sound can easily be adjusted with the "tools" button. We set both picture and sound to "standard" and are very pleased. The matte finish eliminates any glare that might have been an issue around the screen area, and was a factor in choosing this model.

Some reviews were unhappy with the time it takes for the picture to come on when the set is powered up, and when turning channels. We find the times just fine for both functions, and have no issues with them, as they are in line with the two regular tube tv's we own. I'm not saying the negative reviews we read were wrong, just that thankfully we have experienced none of the problems reported.

Your results may vary of course. Consider that we have had the tv for only three days so far, but we are very, very happy with the Sony 32L5000, and I would tell anyone to buy it. 5 stars for sure.
