Like most I had a lamp go out $200 gone. That wasn't as bad as I,m sitting down one night,turn the TV on and a red circuit board image appears on the screen. After trying to remove it several ways ,I call a Sony tech. The tech said he had never heard of such a thing happening to an LCD. If it was a burn in I do not know how it happened with the TV off!!
So here I am with a $3000 TV almost two years old that is worthless. Never again will I purchase Sony.
It seems to me that company's now do not made quality an issue quantity is more important. They all want to sell extended warranty to the consumer. If they built it right in the first place you wouldn't need the extra warranty!!!!
