Sony KF-60 WE 610
Pros
Great picture, logical controls easy even for a non-geek to operate.
Cons
While lighter than even a smaller conventional CRT TV, the Sony is fairly heavy.

Yes
I went to a local electronics store not knowing anything at all about HDTVs. While the salesman did try to convince me that I needed the much more expensive plasma screen, as I keep all my components in built-in cabinets in our entertainment room, it didn't seem to make sense to buy a set that was that much more expensive to save the 24" inches of so of depth that would be gained by wall mounting the plasma screen when I would still have the cabinets coming out at least two-feet from the wall. I bought the Sony LCD and I'm delighted with it particularly since I went to a fiber optic high-density connection. the picture is about as good as I've seen on any screen even much more expensive models. All in all, a great TV and a great purchase.
