Try it, you'll LOVE it!

Pros Not too big, great picture, no matter where you look at the screen from, easy to use (understandable owners manual)
Cons None if you want a smaller big screen
Recommended it? Yes
I have been looking around for a new television to replace my ten year old reliable 27 in.Magnavox. 32 to 36 inch screens sounded great but what I always wanted was a big screen. The trouble always was that the big screens were either too big for the room with poor picture quality if you wanted to view the screen anywhere from directly in front of it, or a good picture was way too expensive for a normal person to afford. Then I saw it! The SONY KP-43T70. A beautiful, 43 inch screen that had a beautiful picture no matter where you viewed it from. I could also easily afford it for not much more than a good 36 inch screen. The TV itself is also not so large and overwhelming that it easily fits into most rooms (actual size is 38x41 5/8x 20 1/8). The set is also fairly light for it's size so it is easy to move. This does not include the stand (which is not necessarily needed) which will add about another 12 inches in height. Another good thing about this TV is that is looks nice. While most big screen TVs have a flat black finish, this SONY has a nice silvertone case.

If you like gadgets and gizmos, this TV has them. Two tuner picture in picture. You can move the location of the second picture with the touch of a button. You can also make the PIP screen larger or smaller. There are also several screen settings depending on what you are watching. You can set the screen mode to movie for better pictures while viewing movies. If you like bright colors, you can set the screen to vivid. You have never seen the new version Disney's Cinderella until you see this movie on this TV in the vivid setting. You will see things that you have never seen before. There are also two Personal settings so you can set the screen colors, tints, brightness, etc.. to your personal tastes. There are also several different audio modes so you can set the TV or a certain show to your specific tastes.

The TV has a parental control unit so that you can block shows from your children. Closed captioning is also a feature.

The Universal Remote is easy to use once you figure out which buttons control what. The buttons are color coded. My kids (6 and 10) figured out the remote very quickly! The owners manual has a very good explanation of how to use the remote and to set up and use the other options on this gem that even a technically challenged person like me could easily understand.

There are many more whistles and bells on this TV that I don't even pretend to understand. I purchased it for the size and picture quality and got much more. If you want a "big screen" that has a great picture, looks good, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the SONY KP-43T70 is for you.
