Sony KP-53HS10 H/DTV-Ready Rear Projection Monitor -- Ready Now and Later
The Sony KP-53HS10 is a popular 4:3 H/DTV-ready television which has been on the market for about a year now. In fact, within the next few months Sony is bringing out two very-similar replacements for this TV, the KP-53HS20 and the KP-53HS30 (features almost identical in the two new TV's --...

HDTV Ready...Excellent Value...Can This Be True?
When I first saw HDTVs, I was attracted, but there was one thing that kept me back... the widescreen and the cost. Throughout my lifetime, I have been raised to love Sony, and only Sony; but now I'm an audiophile using assorted brands (Marantz and Yamaha). Sony tody remains my #2 favorite TV maker,... 51"; SUPER HDTV
I purchased this model a couple of months ago at a bargain. I?m assuming that it was less than 2K because of the newer models that are out. I went to the showroom of a local dealer and I was immediately impressed with the picture quality. I also liked the styling of the cabinet.
Setup &...

Is projection TV for you?
I was recently helping my brother looking for a big screen TV for his new house he just purchased. He has a decent size living room so we know we need a TV around 50-60".

Will Regret This TV later!
Be careful when shelling out about $3000 for a television. When this TV first came out about 8 or 9 months ago, it sold like hot cakes. (It is End of June 2001 right now) But now, no one is buying it. Everyone wants the widescreen HDTV. The reason for this? Better value, and it will be better in... Read full review »
Solid sony TV?? only for a Year
I purschased this TV about a year ago and have enjoyed the oicture quality. Horizontal lines tend to flicker as a result of sony's line doubler. But then it happend.... the left side of the TV's screen became blurred --- what the heck??? After spending near $3,000 and after only one year --- lucky... Read full review »
Sony quality?
We purchased this TV new 18 months ago. The "D board" has gone out and a new part is over $700.00 not including labor. The labor will be almost $200.00. Then there is a service call charge of $96.00. The Sony people wanted me to take the set to a certified Sony repair shop to be fixed. This repair... Read full review »
A Board burned out
I purchased the 53' Sony in 2000 and have enjoyed the sound and picture of this television very much. However, just a few days ago the A-board fried while I was watching a program. The replacement part is going to be at least $1,000 and Sony is not willing to offer any relief on the cost of this... Read full review »
