The Bottom Line:  Avoid Sony Big Screen Televisions!!!
After eagerly anticipating the arrival of our new big screen for our home theater and expecting the best from Sony, I was very disappointed. For the first three weeks or so, I was very impressed with television, and then the problems began. One evening, I turned on the television and had no video only audio. I called the store were I purchased the television to request a technician be sent out. The technician told me the flyback transformer was defective and would have to be replaced. The part was not in stock and was backordered. About two weeks later the transformer was installed and all was working fine, or so we thought. Five days later I get a call from my wife telling me the television is having the same problem, no video only audio. The technician arrives and tells me the flyback transformer has gone bad again. I immediately called Sony to complain about the poor quality of the parts that are used in their televisions. I was given a "oh well, we'll fix it again response". I contacted the store were the television was purchased to demand a replacement television be sent. However, since they did not carry this model any more I was told to come in and choose any model of any brand they had in stock. I am now a happy owner of a Toshiba Big screen.
