The KP(48,53,61)-V80 series are just GREAT TVs. They are priced very well, and the quality is just incredible. The Sony KP61-V80 is a 61" mega TV, it comes at a great price with great quality. I was amazed with every aspect of this TV. Here's why:
Price:
The Sony KP61-V80 comes at a price of around $2650. You can buy it at only $2500 at some stores though. This is what I would call a "best buy". You get many great features such as Dolby Digital surround sound. It's simulated on the TV, there are no external speakers. Then it also comes with a pre-installed screen sheild. They range at about $150 in the store, but they're already installed in the TV. A great warranty is also included with the TV, $2650 is well worth it. This is a great TV.
Warranty:
The Sony KP61-V80 comes with a 3 year parts&labor warranty. Sony is great with their warranties. I have never had any problems with this TV, and it's almost impossible to break the Sony KP61-V80 because it's built so solid =) But to me and my friends, Sony is known as a company that keeps its word, they take the product back with no hassles, and send it back fast to you. The warranty is included, and Sony does a great job with their warranties. Sony and Gateway are two very trustworthy companies that take care of everything fast!
Installation:
Installing the Sony KP61-V80 is a breeze. The ports are by the side of the TV, and are very easy to reach. The Sony KP61-V80 also consists of the latest high quality ports, which would allow you to get top quality DVD hook up, and high quality feedback from other internal systems. Installing the Sony KP61-V80 is very easy. the instructions that come with the Sony KP61-V80 are self-explanatory and very easy to follow.
Sound:
The Sony KP61-V80 comes with Dolby Digital simulated surround sound. Simulated means that there are no external speakers or sub-woofers. It means that there are powerful speakers below the screen that blast incredibly high quality sound at you. The surround sound on the Sony KP61-V80 is purely amazing! It will enrich your room with perfect sound that is very smooth, sweet, and crisp. Even if you jack it up completely, the sound will still stay clear and not at all static.
Bass:
The Sony KP61-V80 releases excellent bass. If you jack the bass up and the volume up at the same time, your house will be trembling. The bass is very pure and strong. It is very accordinate to the actual sound that is coming from the speakers. You'll be purely amazed with the bass you get with the sound.
Video:
The video quality is purely amazing on this TV! All the colors are very vivid and rich. There are plenty of colors. There is a screen sheild that comes with the Sony KP61-V80, and it makes the screen very durable, and very hard to scratch. The colors are always excellent, and it looks just like real life! The Sony TVs seem to have more colors than their competitors. The video quality on the SOny TVs is just purely incredible. The DVD quality is also excellent. The DVDs will play really well on this TV, the sound and video will just be amazing.
Other Cool Features:
There are wheels at the bottom of this TV which make it easy to move and all. They make life very easy. It's not hard at all to move this TV around the house as long as it's not carpeted.
Drawbacks:
Something that I have found with the Sony rear-projection TVs is what happens if you sit way too close to it. If the Sony KP61-V80 is less than 12 feet from the chair or couch, your eyes will get very sore. If you're planning on buying the Sony KP61-V80, be sure you have a lot of space between it and your viewing area. Soon watching TV will be unbearable =(
The Verdict:
The Sony KP61-V80 is a great buy! The price of $2650 is purely incredible! You get a lot of high quality parts with it, and it's a 61 inch Sony! This is probably one of the best TVs I have ever seen with its great features. the only problem is that it hurts your eyes if you're sitting too close. Other than that, the Sony KP61-V80 has virtually no problems. It's very easy on the wallet, and has very impressive features. I recommend this to anyone who wants a great TV!
