The Bottom Line:
Do your research and make sure you get a TV that suits your viewing style and viewing area. Good product with the usual Sony build quality.
I have had no problems with this TV at all. I consider myself to be a middle of the road consumer of AV products--nothing too high end, but I will pay for quality. I have digital cable and now HDTV. I had to immediately replace my DVD player with a progressive scan model. My other DVD without progressive scan had very noticeable fuzz around objects. This was due to the TV's ability to provide an excellent picture, not a defect. The HDTV picture is so clear it is like a giant 35mm photo. My father (would still prefer a black and white tv with dials) even said that he was impressed with the picture quality of a DVD movie. His other comment was that it was like going to a theater. He has not seen a HDTV program yet and the quality of the HDTV broadcast is even better than a DVD. My only dislike is the fact that I now have to use 4 remote controls. I am satisfied with this product and so is everyone that has watched anything on it. I went to a high end store to buy this on purpose. I felt that the service and recomendations were worth the extra $50 that I spent when I compared prices. Your viewing room should also be large--I would not want to be any closer than 10 feet to the screen.
