We're Sony .. and you're not!

The Bottom Line:  When i pay $1400 for something, i expect it to work. This TV didn't, and Sony won't fix it.
I don't usually write reviews -- only when i have a particularly good or bad experience. This time, with Sony i had a particularly bad experience. The very first time i tried to hook up a cable to the coax antenna connector on the back of this Sony TV, the connector on the TV came loose. As a result, even with the cable fully attached, the picture quality was poor. I called Sony warranty service to have them fix the part that came loose the first time i tried to use it. Imagine my shock when the reply came "No. We won't fix it." When i protested and even read for them over the phone the written warranty that applies here, the reply came, and i quote, "Sony will not honor its warranty." Why they did this i can't understand. They have driven away a lifelong Sony advocate over what is probably a $5 part for them. But i cannot support any company, no matter their products, who won't honor the written warranty as delivered to the customer. If i were you, i'd look elsewhere. Oh, you could buy a Sony and hope nothing goes wrong. But why take the chance???
