Hav had this TV for just 4 years. Was replacement for TV destroyed by lightning/power surge. 2/11/08 turned it on - it went off in 3 seconds - repeat trys - same result - sound n no picture - off in near 4 seconds. called Sony 88# no help - directed to "Certified Sony Repair" shop in Harrisburg PA - Was told min 78$ house call ( this unit weighs in at 165 LBS) plus 2 to 300$ for repair?
All things considered - $400 to repair seems costly - and 90 day repair warrnty is not reassuring. So I am opting to replace unit - NOT with SONY - as I feel from Online study that Sony/this model group is seeing this problem far too much. And we consumers have no recourse!? Or do we?
