what a picture!!

I love my Trinitron. There, I've said it. Every time I turn it on, I'm amazed at the picture quality. All of my friends continually comment on how excellent it looks, even with standard cable coming into it. If you're looking for the bottom line, it's this: buy this TV. You will NOT be sorry. If you want more, read on.
When I buy new gear, I try to think about what I'm actually paying for. For instance, what is it about a home theater speaker system that I really care about? How it sounds, not about brand name or silly little sound presets like "church hall mode". With that in mind, the real question to ask yourself when buying a television is how the picture looks. The only other real concern might be how it sounds, but if you have it hooked up to a home theater system, that point becomes moot. However, rest assured that this set sounds awesome by itself.
Back to the picture. Sharp, clear, and bright. And don't get me started about the picture while using the S-video input (for a DVD or satellite). Totally unreal. I swear, I think my TV looks better than most of the new demos in Good Guys or the like. I can't say enough good things about. However, if I have to have one complaint, it would be that it only has one rear S-video input. I have a satellite and a DVD player, so I'm forced to watch satellite with the standard RCA cables-it still looks excellent, but it would have been nice to have two S-Video inputs.
As far as interface features, this set has a ton: picture-in-picture, favorite channel list, freeze frame, the works. You probably won't end up using them all, but they are, I admit, nice to have. I highly recommend this TV to everyone, especially those with home theatre set-ups, or those that are going to upgrade to one. However, there is no downside to this TV, so using it purely for good 'ol fashioned television surfing would be excellent as well!
