I recently purchased this tv for $1,100. So I got an incredible deal. But now that I have it, I easily would have paid the full retail of $1,700. Between me, my friends, & my family we've used MANY different tv's. Different brands, sizes, etc.
This is by far the best I've ever experienced. To get a good idea of this TV, go to Best Buy, or some electronics store & look at these Wega flat screens compared to the TV's sitting next to them. There is no comparison. The picture is much brighter and clearer than any of them, easily.
It also has many options, component video connections, and a great remote. Another awesome feature is the 16:9 enhanced mode which increases resolution for anamorphic dvd's. Simply set the tv to "16:9 enhanced mode on" & the dvd player to "16:9 widescreen mode" and they look amazing. Believe it or not, movies in this mode look every bit as good at they do on ANY digital tv I've seen, but for much less $$$.
I've had no problems with this set what so ever, and it seems it shall last forever. It also is a beautiful looking set. I highly recommend this TV to anyone who wants a large standard tube tv set. I'd say the Sony Wega series is definately the best standard TV's currently made, bar none.
