#300 wonder

Pros Open, airy sound, unlimited versatility
Cons Market life unsure due to competing formats
Recommended it? Yes
The beauty of minidisc (MD)is that it is a digital recordable format. CD-R offers recordable CDs, CD-RW offers re-recordable CDs, but for outright convenience, they cannot touch MD.
As well as being more compact, it is the editing facilities on MD that are a real boon to users.
Sony have an enviable reputation of making products that sound great, are built to last, and that are well thought out ergonomically.
I bought an MDS-JB920 with the intention of transferring my vinyl collection to MD. As well as sounding on par with the source material, I have now also gained this music in a portable format and one that I would be far happier to lend to friends, etc that it's vinyl counterpart.
One great thing about Sony equipment is it's consistency, both in the audio and construction department. This MD was originally mated to a 10 year old amp (TA-F411B) yet they look as if they were from the same era. When it comes to brand loyalty, I am a bit of a "Mr Sony", currently owning 3 Sony TVs, 2 amps, 2 tuners, 2 MD players, 3 CD players and 2 in-car players. NONE OF THE ABOVE HAVE EVER GONE WRONG.... You simply can't buy better for the money.
