Extremely swell and extremely expensive

Pros light, ease of use, portability, never a skip
Cons expensive
Recommended it? Yes
This great product from Sony is, for those who weren't sure, a minidisc player. Many people feel that minidiscs are the future of music portability and I basically agree with this assumption. This player is stocked well with many features and is light and easy to use.

I have only found one problem with this player to date. This is certainly its price. This player cannot be obtained for under three hundred dollars, and for me this cost is quite a hefty price to pay. As technology continually increases I feel that the prices of cool gagetry such as this player will drop dramatically. In other words, maybe I should have waited a year or two to buy a product such as this; however, other than the price factor I have not been disappointed at all.

This machine really does have everything that I was looking for. First of all, the battery life is quite long at around 25 hours and it is also rechargeable. There is also an add on AA battery pack that comes with the unit with a slightly longer life; however I personally don't recommend this because the few hours of extra life are not worth the money or the hassle of buying extra batteries continually.

Secondly, the player has a forty second anti-shock memory system which ensures that there will be no skips. This is great for portability and for use in the car where there may be many bumps. In almost two months, this unit has not skipped once on me.

The player is also extremely easy to use and can be controlled by just about anyone who is able to perform menial tasks. The switches are all located on the sides and back of the unit and are clearly marked. Ease of use is also bolstered by the fact that the unit is incredibly light and small. It will not cause a hassle in even the tightest of quarters.

To sum up, this minidisc player has everything that I was looking for. It is light, small, easy to control, has great skip guards and portability and battery life. The only drawback is the high price. My recommendation is that if you can afford this product it won't let you down. Please note though that there are some quality substitutes on the market for as much as 150 dollars less.
