The Bottom Line:
If you really feel like what you have isn't working for you, I'd recommend buying this. However, I would research other models before making my final decision.
First of all, if you are trying to decide between this and the MZR-700, here are two features that are worth the extra $50 if you use them. The stick remote on this MD player/recorder has an LED display, making it so you don't have to remember what track you are on. The 750 also comes with an AM/FM tuner, which has fairly good reception, although I would not recommend you buy this MD player if you aren't going to use the radio; you can get the same other features using the 700 for less money.
The problem I have with this MD is that it does not include an analog recording cable, to record from a Discman, or other portable device. Digital recording is not all it is said to be. My computer was unable to install the hardware, but since I got a newer system, it has been working just fine. When recording entire CD's, I have found that the recorder inserts trackmarks all over the place. The instruction booklet has a solution for this, but it would be nice if I never had to deal with the problem. Also, recording, whether it's analog or digital, is second for second. If you want to record multiple CD's in a short period of time, I'd recommend getting a MD/CD deck.
The 750's Lp4 feature is very helpful. Being able to fit 4 and five hours of music on a single 80 minute MD saves me time and money. The only disadvantage is the subtle reduction in sound quality during playback. However, the quality of the sound will stay the same after multiple playbacks, the disks don't wear very quickly at all.
Do not buy this or any MD player/recorder unless you feel that your current portable audio device is inadequate for your needs. It is not worth purchasing just for the sake of getting something new.
