I was looking for something that would be easily transported in my bookbag on the way to and from school, but I did not just want the normal CD player like everyone else had. I was first drawn to the MP3 players, but I did not see any that I liked for my price range. I went up and asked the best buy guy how much music some of them could hold, and the tag said like 2 hours (the Mp3 players did) but the best buiy guy said that if I wanted CD quality sound that they would only be able to hold about 1 megabyte per minute, and that probably would be just a little higher then tape quality sound. The guy suggested that I check out minidiscs, because he said that they were a lot better deal in the long run, and you also just have them there, so you dont have to keep recording over them. I saw the sony MZ-R37 and checked it out. It was only 199.99, and that was a little higher then I wanted to go, but I didnt mind waiting a week if that is what I wanted. So I went home and got online, and checked out the specs. All the things that they said about it pointed to "yes" in my mind, so I went to best buy the next day and bought it. It was a great purchase to say the least, and I have never once regreted buying it. It has really awesome sound, and is very versitile. The sound quality is excellent, and has a lot of options.
The only thing that I have found that I didnt like about it, was the headphones that came with it. They were not very loud, so trying to get over the noise of the people on the bus was hard, but I have heard it is like that with just about any minidisc player you buy.
Overall I am very satisfied, and if you want a great music player, go minidisc!
