MZ-R5ST

Pros Wonderful design, digital and analog jacks, great large flip-up LCD, fantastic remote
Cons Labeling a bit cumbersome, no MIC input on docking station
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  A true MD classic -- if you find one of these, buy it.
SONY really out-did itself when it designed the MZ-R5ST, which was a followup to the
MZ-R4ST, and utilized the basic design features of the wonderful MZ-R30 and R50
portables.

Who but SONY would have come up with such a wonderful combination of portable
flexibility and table-top editing capabilities. This thing has it all -- multiple jacks for
digital and analog, the ability to charge the LIP-8 battery in the portable unit as well
as in the docking station itself (2 at once), a wonderful bright blue LCD, quick engage
of FF/RR and very quick TOC EDIT times.

This is a true classic -- a design that was obviously the precursor of later SONY decks,
and although it doesn't have MDLP capability, if you find one in excellent or new condition,
I recommend you buy it!
