Cons
None so far
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I highly Recommend this product. Its worth all the money spent on it. So forget those MP3 and CD players!
I have for a long time wanted to get myself an MP3 player or a Mini Disc player. So one fine day it was time for me to buy one. So I went to Circuit City and looked at MP3 players then it dawned on me that Mini Disc Players might be a better choice.
What is the Sony MZ-R70?
First of all the MD player is half the size of the smallest CD player! The MD player is about $250 depending on where you buy it but it?s definitely better than any MP3 player for several reasons. The MZ-R70 has a PC link, it has an optic link and it has two headphone supports and a mike input. The MZ-R70 lets you record on a rerecord able MD any number of times. It comes with a bag to hold the player, headphones, the full USB port and all the wires. It comes with a rechargeable battery and an AC adapter.
Each MD is about $2 on average and you can record over 74 minutes of music. You can have several MDs, just like CDs and they are as small as the MD player.
Why is it better than an MP3 Player?
There are several reasons why. Unlike an MP3 player the storage space is unlimited. You can have several MDs that you can carry around and you don?t have to delete older stuff if you need new songs. The MD player takes more formats than just MP3. You can copy CD?s, WAV files and even your own voice through the mike. So this player can back up as a dictation tool too!
Ease of Use
The MZ-R70 is very easy to use. It is completely plug and play. There is no extra stuff that you need or need to install on your PC. The USB wire just plugs into the computer and is automatically recognized. Then you plug the other end in the MD Player and start recording! That?s all. If you want to record off a CD Player you can just plug in the input wire into the MD player and the Output wire into the CD player. If you have a DVD player or the new generation CD players you can connect to it using the optical wires.
Playing the music is just like a CD player. It?s that easy. You can even erase the songs you don?t like or if it records the music without a break you can insert a break so you get a new song number. You can also add a name to the title. You can move the order of the play list. The MD Player also comes with recording levels that can be automatically adjusted or manually adjusted.
In Conclusion
The MZ-R70 is well worth the money. The whole MD technology is a break through and saves you a lot of space. The hardware is really cheap and the music on MD is digitally recorded and played so the quality is great. So if you want to buy a portable audio device I highly recommend this player.
