A Weight Watchers Dream, and More
Pros
The size and weight...small and light.
Cons
Expensive, but worth every bit of the cost.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I'm not into recording in a professional manner. Hence, I gave this four stars as an overall rating. However, for individual use, I'd rate it a "5"...no question.
It has been over two years that I have wanted a decent recorder--small and lightweight. So I have discussed these gadgets time and again with friends, especially since I joined a recent weight-loss program. Music has always motivated me to get moving.
Two of my friends alluded to the words, "Sony MZ-R90." They'd repeat, "This afternoon when you go buy your little recording device, be sure and ask for the 'MZ-R90.'" Though I had no idea why this particular one, I was soon to discover reasons.
I'd recently begun walking every morning in the park prior to going to the office. My walk was enhanced by motivation through recent Weight Watchers meetings, but more so since my recent purchase.
A legacy is basically a gift, and though this MiniDisc Walkman cost more than I anticipated, I'll just bet on it that it is going to offer me a legacy in more ways than one...especially good mental and physical health. Weight Watchers has motivated me, but that is another story. I have increased my walk rhythm immensely since purchasing this amazing device. In WW I lost 2 pounds in one week. I have had my Walkman for two weeks, and VOILA. I dropped lost 10 additional pounds.
Once motivated I am not one to quit. The music on this apparatus flows nonstop. It has not halted after utilizing it for three straight hours. I am thinking it may go to five hours, though I have not read all the literature that accompanied my new Walkman.
Speaking of operating instructions, I find them easy. I am one of those persons who try out 'stuff' first. If at first I do not succeed, I tear through the instructions like a wild woman. In viewing the booklet briefly I see that details are explicit. I will probably utilize it as questions occur.
I like my Sony Walkman's appearance, too. Plus it is volatile. Though I like to know a product, sometimes a gut instinct works with electronics like with some people. As we peruse the product and compare it to others on the shelves, any of us novices can sometimes determine our likes and dislikes. This product fits with my exercise belt. As Forest Gump would say, "We go together like peas and carrots."
Never have I really been all that motivated by listening to FM/AM radio continuously unless I am working in the office or on my computer, in a sedentary position. The music is not always consistent with my likings. With the "MZ-R90" I can record the music I like...all the songs that deliver my bodily movements into good health. Of course, there are many things that can be recorded, but at the present time music is of greatest interest to me.
In speaking about recordings, this amazing apparatus will record from several areas in our electronic world...my CD player, computer, radio, and who knows? Something else may be listed in those instructions I have yet to read. Though I have only owned it for two weeks I have noticed that it does not skip, contrary to the old one. And I do not think it is due to the newness of it all. My old one skipped intermittently from the very beginning...should have returned it but I am one of those persons who loathe taking items back to the store once purchased (something I need to get over) especially since 9/11.
In truth, I am no expert on any electronic device. But I do know enough about equipment to realize whether it does the job I want it to do. My Sony MZ-R90 has great quality in sound. It is lightweight. It is a perfect size. It is smooth in sound.
What more do I need? I'd recommend it to anyone who is interested in something with these qualities.
And should you decide to make this purchase, "Don't forget, ask for the "Sony MZ-R90." And ENJOY!!!
