The Bottom Line:
Highly recommended. Great system for the money. Easy to install. Rich surround sound.
This is my first home theater system. I just did a garage conversion to a laundry room/theater room and had a 13' x 21' space to fill. I wanted a clean look without all the separate components. I my opinion, this system definitely leads the pack in that regard. It's the only one that I have seen where the electronics are built into the main speaker unit. I read all the Epinion reviews and others about this system and went with it. Although I have an almost perfect acoustic environment, which I am sure enhances the performance, I was very happy when I connected the system. I put Jurassic III in just to give the system a workout. It was incredible. The bass is more than I expected and the surround sound was rich.
Since the subwoofer is built into the right main, you can't really move it around much, but in my room, it works great sitting to the side of the TV. The main speaker/subwoofer cable should be about 8 feet longer. That way the speakers can be 12 feet apart and you can still hide the wire. It has a special connector so I will probably have to have one made.
The volume goes up to at least 30, and my wife leaves the room if I go higher than 12 with no noticeable distortion.
Some of the reviews mentioned that it was weak on music CD's. I will have to agree. But I found that if you reduce the bass all the way, crank the treble up all the way, and try the different sound field settings, that there is enough adjustment to make it work.
