Ok I am a Sony fan. By far my favorite electronics manufacturer and my most reviewed company on E-pinions. The Super Audio CD Player has completely made me Sony faithful. Ok I'm gonna throw some technical terms in here, I'm basing the technicalities of the product on what I have read about it, and learned about it. The sound quality, and my astonishment is ALL mine
Now if you can afford it (around 3500 dollars for a single cd player, not even a changer) or can carry it (weighs a little over 50 pounds) this player uses 44,100 samples per second, it's an audio encoding that allows you to store music in digital form on a disc. Basically what that does is makes the sound quality and reproduction about 2 million times better.
Now Super Audio CD's (SACD) are now available from Sony and Philips, the SACD has "Direct Stream Digital Audio Encoding." This type of encoding samples music at 2.8 million times per second (that's a LOT) and they say this actually reproduces the harmonics of the room the music was actually recorded in. (How that's possible I'll never know)
This player plays SACD's and your normal audio CD's with such precise sound, perfect reproduction and I swear it you'll think you're sitting there on stage with your favorite group!! Hopefully enough people will read this review so that I'll be able to afford one of these players one day!!!!
