Sony Does It Again
Headphones These high quality digital headphones are great for the product itself. Leave it to Sony to show you it?s product has more uses that what meets the eye. The headphones can be used on ANY portable audio such as your CD player. Which is really good for me. I have a GPX CD player and the headphones are ridiculously uncomfortable. I just plug these into my CD player and all is good.
Lightweight
There are many lightweight headset out there. This is extremely lightweight. Considering there are headphones out there that aren?t even a FM radio set and weight a Gazillion pounds. These prove to be very light.-Comfort When it?s lightweight that is a good sign it is usually comfortable. If you fall asleep with headphones on you tend to wake up to that annoying pain behind your ears. With the SHR-M1 you fall asleep with them on without being tired. The comfort level is amazingly good.
Tuner
The tuner can be used on any audio product the same way the headphones could be. I don?t really use it on any other product, because the extension is kind of long. But the option is there. The good thing about this digital tuner is you can get to the precise stations you want. You don?t have to go throughout the static travel, which you go through with the normal tuner bands.
Other Features and Requirements
It has a battery indicator which is good feature. It?s a little annoying if your listening to something and then all the sudden everything shuts down. I think that has happened to many of us before.
15 Memory Presets allows you to have up to 15 stations. I?ve seen other FM radio sets with a higher amount, so that isn?t a feature that will sell the product.
AAA batteries is necessary.
The Look
Another product from Sony that looks classy. It comes in colors of Silver, Gold, and Black. Lots of times the comfort level might affect the look. This is not one of those cases.
Test Against the Rest
The SHR-M1 does hold it?s own. Although, the price might play a factor. You can great deals from other companies like RCA and Panasonic for a product with the same quality or higher, but for a cheaper price. SHR-M1 is a great piece of audio equipment, just not for that price.
Con
Well...it is a bit pricey for a FM stereo Headset. It is great quality and all, but you should only shell out if you have some extra pocket change.
