Sony SLV-ED939 VHS VCR

The Sony SLV-ED939 Multisystem VCR I purchased never worked right. PAL prerecorded tapes worked best, but NTSC tapes (prerecorded or self-recorded) flickered constantly, with the tracking running diagonally through the picture. After three hours running, it stuttered when rewinding the tape, and then quit completely, showing no electricity going in, making it impossible for me to remove the tape. Since it had been purchased 41 days before, the seller referred me to Sony, but Sony USA said they had no information on that product, and could not repair it. Thus, the one year warranty is useless.
