When our old and somewhat decrepit VCR needed replacing, I went to the electronics store intending to buy a conventional VCR for our regular household use.
Once I laid eyes on this model, I was sold! The feature set is ideal for a family with children. Even though our daughter is only 18 months old she is extremely curious about gadgets and all electronics with buttons she can press and push.
With our previous player she was able on more than one occasion to pop out the movie inside, and thereby proceed to destroy it. While we had a safety cover, it was both cumbersome and easy to lose.
With this VCR there was no need for external latches or covers, since the mechanism provides a door lock. There is also the added feature of a simple animation which plays while a movie is rewinding. This is great for impatient toddlers.
Price was also a major plus. This VCR retails for only $79, which is considerably less than a more traditional model, and with its added features is an excellent value.
While its bright, shiny buttons may give you pause, just consider the beauty of a sandwich proof door, that will thwart any tape stealing, and its beauty becomes more than skin deep.
