Low Quality High Speed VCR
Pros
High speed fast-forward/rewind and scan while playing.
Cons
Slipping gears. Poor tracking, bad remote. Crinkles/jams tapes.

This is a low quality VCR. Sony should be ashamed. The high speed FF/rewind is great. An 8-hr. (T160) tape rewinds in about a minute, except for when the gears slip and makes a loud buzz-saw sound.
The remote is hard to use because you have to point it directly at the VCR or it will not read keypresses. Very frustrating when FF-ing commercials and ending up a minute or two beyond your intended point, and then rewinding and overshooting the other way.
On rare occasion, while in playback, the VCR will pull the tape out of alignment until it jams. Requires a screwdriver to open up the VHS cartridge, unspool a few inches of crinkled tape and put it back on track.
