I should have listened to the reviewers about this PoS. Playback and recording quality is awful. VCR cannot decide where it is getting input from so if you have a DVD player, and a video camera plugged into it, it will randomly shut off the picture as if there is no input signal. Even if you only have just one source for input, it will get confused. Sometimes you need to power it off and on again, sometimes you have to play a tape for a few seconds. You might be able to use this for hours or days, or only a few seconds before it goes to heck. All of this happened after about six months of use. I have never seen anything like it.
So as a consumer what do you do? Take it back to the store? nope they won't take it. Send it in to Sony? Sure along with $50 and a 12 week wait. No the solution was to smash this thing to pieces and go buy something that the good people on Epinions recommend.
