Getting Sony under cabinet tv to fit.
Pros
That works beautifully for me. Its a bit of work, but worth it.
Cons
You have two brackets hanging down under your cabinet.
Recommended it?
Yes
The people at Sony must be incredibly stupid! They manufacture under cabinet tv's that are too deep to fit under standard kitchen cabinets.
I was faced with this problem on their 9" model, which stuck out beyond the depth of the cabinet, therefore making it impossible to secure the front with the screw holes in the unit.
Here is what I did. Go to: http://www.videomount.com/accessories.htm
Order model VH-002, add on holder for VH - 001.
This bracket will hold the tv and still allow the tv screen to drop down.
Take a piece of wood about the length of the tv and mount the brackets onto it, wide enough to snugly allow the tv to slide between them. Then screw the plank underneath your cabinet with four screws. You may need to add a filler strip to make it flush with the bottom of the cabinet.
If you need any help feel free to e-mail me at caruso.mark@comcast.net.
