I should have gone digital.
Pros
Style.
Cons
Questionable reception. Difficult to tune. Doesn't stay on well.
Recommended it?
No
Sony rides too much on reputation. It looks good, but feels cheap, comparable to lesser brands like GPX.
I bought this for use when mowing the lawn. I use a reel mower, so volume is plenty, and sound is good when you do get it tuned.
It won't stay on a station very well, though. At least not the ones I want to listen to. The local/dx sensitivity switch is a nice feature if you want the biggest station in the area, but fine tuning is almost impossible, and even walking around the yard, most stations go in and out of tune.
Not only will it not stay tuned, it won't stay on. Any movement more than a casual stroll and it starts sliding around. The foam is pretty uncomfortable, too.
Recommendations - don't buy this product. Look for something with digital tuning, and probably better to have an armband or pocket radio with your choice of headset, earbuds, or whatever.
