Not up to Sony's Standards

bykozero Nov 12, 2002
Pros Lightweight, fits the head well
Cons Poor sound, very clunky to program the memory, disappointing
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  I would buy something else if I had known that I was going to be so disappointed.
I purchased these headphones for my wife having owned the Sport version for many years. I expected that they would give her the same satisfaction that mine had given me.

After a while, I noticed that she wasn't using them for taking her walks. When my Sport model broke down after many years of use, I tried using hers.

First I tried programming them. After rereading the instructions a few times, I finally figured out how to do that. It was not intuitive, and I couldn't do it again without the instructions.

Then I went for a run with them on. I was very disappointed in the sound quality. Without the megabase on they sounded very tinny. With the megabase active, they sounded like what I thought was normal, not enhanced. In addition, I never got the feeling that I was getting stereo sound out of these headphones. In fact I'm not sure they are stereo - I couldn't find anything on the box or headphones that says they are.

Like my wife, I ended up not using them either, having decided it was better to run without them than to put up with poor sound quality.
