Pros Excellent sound, key-press lock, belt clip, digital tuning & clock, great size
Cons No back-light
Recommended it? Yes

Looking very much like a mini SONY CD player, this AM/FM/FM-Stereo radio is a great fit for folks who need radio "to go".

This receiver is smaller than a pack of cigarettes (3 1/8' x 2 7/8" x ~1"), requires two AAA batteries (alkaline for best performance of course. Don't even think about... Read full review »

An OK radio at an OK price.

Pros Nice size, digital tuning, easy controls
Cons Mediocre reception, no "scan" function
Recommended it? Yes

First of all, the reception did not exactly blow me away. Also, a nearby powerful station could be sometimes be heard over top of weaker stations at the other end of the dial (poor image rejection). It also had problems pulling in weaker stations.

The other problem with this radio is that... Read full review »

Pros Very good sensitivity and holding stations
Cons No mono switch
Recommended it? Yes

My goal was to find a moderate to low cost portable FM tuner to wear for working out, jogging, walks, office, etc.

I evaluated solely on FM reception of two channels of interest, WEMU 89.1 (jazz and NPR, a very strong signal) and WUOM 91.7 (NPR, a moderate signal). Ann Arbor sits in a... Read full review »

Pros Lightweight, easy to set, great sound.
Cons No light for the clock/station window.
Recommended it? Yes

I picked this digital radio walkman up after borrowing one from a friend. I was really impressed by its compact size, great sound and especially its ability to lock into local stations. My last "walkman" was a much larger, heavy, and clumsily designed cassette player model. This one is small enough... Read full review »

Pros great sound with my optional $200 denon headphones, locks stations well
Cons $it doesn't have any for $34
Recommended it? Yes

I have a 7 year old walkman cassette am/fm radio that is getting long in the tooth so I set out to buy a replacement.
I only wanted a radio so I went and bought a little Aiwa digital am/fm for $60, reception was terrible, statichy, noisy, like a $5.00 radio so I took it back and decided to go... Read full review »

Pros Great size, good features
Cons poor reliability
Recommended it? No

After my previous Sony AM/FM Walkman (The armband one!) gave up the ghost, I needed a replacement. The only time I ever use this is when I'm running, so the key features that I'm looking for are station memory (so that I can change stations without looking) and a reasonably small size. Having had... Read full review »

Needs a Better Overall Design

Pros Compact size; digital station selection; hold button
Cons Very poor belt clip; poor battery door; scratchy volume control; bulky headphones
Recommended it? No

The Sony Walkman SRF-M35 is a paradox. It has some positive features, but it has some design flaws that make it a frustrating to own and use.

Its positive features include its compact size, its digital push button station selection, and the hold button that prevents an accidental station... Read full review »

Small Wonder

Pros Small size, easy to use, decently priced
Cons Very Short Battery Life, marginal FM reception, poor belt clip
Recommended it? Yes

Small, wonder why it costs so damn much? I purchased my FIRST SRF-M35 at Circuit City in April '01. The original headphones that came with the unit quickly broke and I bought a pair of Sony in-the-ear style MDR-W08(which sound much better). Strike one. I bought an ultra mega industrial size package... Read full review »

Pros Lightweight,digital tuner,lock feature
Cons No seek feature, uses AAA batteries
Recommended it? Yes

This is a great little radio for listening on the bus or while walking around town. Very easy to use. Has AM,FM 1 and FM 2, with 5 presets for each. The lock button is a great feature - when activated, it prevents other buttons from being pressed. This works to keep the radio from accidentally... Read full review »
