Good quality product

Pros Long battery life. digital tuning, low cost refurbished units
Cons No belt clip
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Definitely worth the $40 for a refurbished one, but I wouldn't spend $70 on a non-refurbished radio. Good headphones, long battery life, and good reception make this a fine product.
Bought a refurbished unit from Overstock.com for around $40. Very good product for the price. Cheap non-digital tuner in some mini radios soon lose the tension in the internal cord connecting the tuning knob to the tuner making tuning difficult and eventually making them useless. Digital tuning is essential, so try to keep away from the non-digital tuner radios.

Sony SRF-M78 has digital tuning with 5 presets. The reception is good.

I am using 2 NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries on the Sony SRF-M78 and it has been ON for at least 4 hours non-stop and there is still plenty of charge left. The manual says that the battery life is 13 hours. NiMH batteries should be able to give something close.

There is no belt clip but it fits in my pants pocket. The hold button disables all other buttons so it stays fine inside my pocket.

The headphones are very light and small with acceptable audio quality. I have had the headphones on for as long as 3 hours and it doesn't bother much.

December 2002 Update: Two months later still working great. Battery life is excellent. A belt clip would have been very helpful.
