The Bottom Line:
Research alternatives before buying this. It might still be the best there is, but it's far from ideal.
I use this radio when running, but I'm very disappointed with this model. I bought it about 18 months ago, when the prior one was too damaged from my many falls! The problems with this are so basic I wonder if Sony ever actually tested it on a runner before marketing it. The armband is not the easy, snap-on, type they suggest. It tries to snap on, but curls under so I need to do it manually, which shouldn't be difficult but is, especially with thin arms. When on my arms, it slips down often.
The volume control is VERY easy to touch accidentally, losing sound or having my eardrums shatter. This can happen even with normal arm swinging when running and I don't have fat arms.
All basic controls are hard to reach while running, and other users have commented on how the preset buttons are indistinguishable from other buttons by touch, so it's easy to change, e.g., from FM to AM by accident when you want to just want to change stations.
I've used this on long runs, including one marathon, and I continue to use it because there's no competition. However, Sony, please do more consumer testing before producing the next model. The last, yellow, model was much better.
