Yes
The Bottom Line:
The strong reception makes this lightweight radio perfect for runners.
I have had my Sony since August 2002. It has accompanied me on countless runs.
PROS
Strong reception
My experience with Sony is that their radios have strong reception, and this radio is no exception. While this is no
Grundig, the reception is still better than most.
Light weight
As a runner, this is important to me. This radio is great for runners. I started off using the armband but grew tired of awkward feel. Instead, I now clip it to my shorts. It is lightweight enough that it can easily clip and stay on a pair of running shorts.
Easy to use
The controls are functional and well placed. It offers five buttons for presets (5 am, 10 fm), and has one button dedicated to weather radio. Occasionally I accidentally will hit the weather button while trying for another one, but overall the buttons are well placed and easy to use.
CONS
Occasionally the volume gets bumped
This is only a minor concern. The volume is place on the lower side and will get jostled around and occasionally raised or lowered as I run. The radio has a lock feature to keep the buttons from inadvertent bumping. I wish the lock applied to volume as well.
Price
I bought mine for $50 at Wal-Mart two years ago. This is kind of spendy for a little radio.
CONCLUSION
I would replace this wonderful little radio if it were ever lost or broken. I appreciate the strong reception and how light it is.
