I needed to upgrade my old Sony receiver to one that allowed for coax and optical input. This filled the order very nicely.
The setup is a little confusing and the manual is a complete waste of time. It took a few agonizing hours to get sound to come out of the speakers. I realized that the receiver would only allow opital input for VIDEO 2 (TV) and coax/optical for DVD. I had to switch my cable box input and DVD to make it work. I could'nt believe I had to do this, but it was confirmed by Sony and Circuit City. I've learned to live with it.
I can live with what I don't like and love what I do like. Overall this is a very nice surround sound receiver for under $200.00.
