The Bottom Line:
You can't beat the clarity of this monitor, especially for a 17". Easy to operate with fantastic graphics, this monitor comes highly recommended.
If you are looking for a monitor that delivers sharp, crisp images with excellent color, then this might be the one for you! At a dot pitch of .24, it's one of the better monitors I saw in the price range of under $200. I just purchased a new Dell computer and needed a monitor that would not only look nice but deliver exceptional images. The actual viewable image is 16.1 inches which is pretty much comparable to other manufacturers. The maximum resolution is 1280x1024; however, it is recommended to use 1024x768. Although this monitor is somewhat bulky and heavy at 41 lbs, it easily fit on my computer center with no problem. It is plug and play compatible, so my computer automatically recognized the monitor and the drivers were instantly installed. It's also very easy to adjust the height of the monitor by simply moving it to the position you like. Great for people who have more than one user! This monitor meets the Energy Star guidelines for energy efficiency as well. After sitting in front of this monitor for hours at a time, I have never had a problem with it being hard on my eyes. Text is clear and black and the screen isn't so bright that it blinds you. However, it is very simple to adjust your brightness simply by moving the joystick up or down. The contrast can be adjusted by moving the joystick left or right. Everything else can be found on the easy to use on screen menu. This monitor is great for the average gamer or anyone that just needs a good, clear monitor. Sony has done it once again with this Trinitron!
