great bump for the buck
Pros
great bass, good display, good colours, excellent pricepoint

crappy highs and mediocre midrange reproduction, poor detach mechanism

Yes
This player is great for the price. I don't consider it one of the best looking players, but these days none of the players on the market look good. Also I never have been a fan of Sony, but they just seem to cram the most features in their decks in comparison to brands like Alpine.
The sound:
Great bass reproduction
Mids are mild at best
Lows are terrible, really tinny and hissy :(
The BBE function is good but the DSO settings are absolutely useless, they simply add a high pitched noise to the music. Reading mp3s from a cd is much faster than my older Clarion unit that bit the dust. I love the fact that it goes to the first song in the next subsequent album from the last song in the previous. The clarion unit simply went back to the first song in the SAME album. The colours are nice and bright, love the yellow.
Note: The mechanism to detach the faceplate is atypical, you'll see. Also the button to eject is kind of hard to press at times because it is so close to the folded down faceplate.
