The Bottom Line:
A great player at a great price. I've paid hundreds for what this player offers. A complete CD player.
Sony finally came through with my dream player! I'm surprised though that this player has not been officially announced. I was lucky enough to stumble upon it at my local Walmart.
SOUND:
The 15mw + 15mw is three times more powerful than your typical portable CD player. You don't need portable headamp with this player. The sound is loud and full. You have a choice of custom equalizer, or several presets including 4 bass settings. I use the player without any custom settings or megabase, and it sounds rich and full.
PLAYBACK:
This is quite impressive as well. The main feature I like is "seamless" or gapless playback. I have a few CD's that don't have gap's between songs and this player plays them perfectly. Shuffle and playlist functions are two of my favorites to use. However, you have several playback options. You can now have 8 playlists per a CD, which is an improvement over the usual 2. Great for those mp3 CD's. ID3 Tag support is also a feature I'm glad Sony added. The sound is awesome on everything I've put into this player, i.e. gapless, burned CD's, mp3 disks, all play superbly.
The controls are very easy to use as well. I don't find myself fumbling or pressing wrong buttons, etc.
RADIO:
Hasn't changed much. The weather function works better though. I also noticed an improvement with the TV reception.
REMOTE:
Player comes with a remote, which I haven't used. However, it appears sturdy and can function most of the player.
