The Bottom Line:
Buy it if you have the dough. Otherwise, you'll get more joy out of a less expensive, comparable model.
Pros: The screen quality is beautiful. Although I am somewhat a minimalist, I found it easy to get into the movie and forget that I was watching it on only a 7" screen. The picture is clear and easy to see, even if you are looking from an angle. The speakers in the "dock" do a great job for what they are - personal speakers. All in all, it's a high quality portable DVD player; you know it is going to last.
Cons: Price. The one they had there for $99 certainly wasn't as nice, but the screen was just as big, fairly comparable and the unit was lighter in weight (though it may not last as long). Password protection was a problem. Although I have the parental locks turned OFF, I am still prompted for a password every time I try to watch a movie that is R rated. And, the only way to enter the password in is with the accompanying remote control. That is the biggest inconvenience.
Any "con" related to this product is easily neutralized and ignored because of it's high quality and excellent performing system, except the password being required. Perhaps my model is defective, but that's a "curtain closer" and it's going back to the store.
