Basic and some annoying features
Pros
Price = 349, six months ago. Does an OK job for a basic system.
Cons
Volume constraints, weird quirks when switching from, TV, DVD, Stereo, etc.

We bought this in-box surround system as a second system for the children about six months ago. I can say this about it you definitely get what you pay for. First of all it does an OK job for surround sound. It has the basics, Pro logic, Pro logic II, etc. However, I found some major drawbacks. The sound has some sort of governor on it and does not get loud at all. So, if you are looking for that "theater experience" "to crank it up", buy another system.
When putting in a DVD, it takes an unusually long time to spin up. Another annoyance is that you can't watch TV and eject or load DVD with out it automatically switching to DVD mode. This is annoying if you want to queue up a movie while finishing a TV show. Other systems that I have seen don't have an issue with this basic multitasking.
