Spherex Xbox 5.1 Surround Sound System Speakers

I've tried several computer/surround systems. First was a Klipsch setup from London Drugs. For $300 cdn ( reg. $499)it was pretty good, but the bass driver was impressive and powerful, but muddy; for a speaker company, not up to par. The next was the big award-winning Logitech z-5500, $200 on sale at Future Shop. Similar sound to the Klipsch, but again not capable of clean low-end sound, especially music. Not good enough. As I was leaving Future Shop, saw an open box on sale for $99 ( reg $199). Worth a try? I couldn't believe that this this has won a bunch of awards! The satellite speakers are tinny, buzzy, and the mid-range sounds drone. The sub is a joke, loud but nothing but distortion. Totally unsuited for music or movies. This is after hours of adjusting all the different input levels and surround dolby options ( I have a teenager who is an expert!)I imagine the $49 Curtis system at Wal-mart couldn't be any worse!
