This morning someone asked me what I was doing today. When I said I was heading out to see the new Star Wars film, I heard "Oh, you're one of them."

Yes, I am one of them if them means someone who enjoys a movie that is an escape from reality with a good story, action and special effects... Read full review »

The Dark Side clouds everything…

So there I was, on Amazon.com when I realized that they were allowing people to pre-order the latest installment of the Star Wars Saga, Episode II: Attack of the Clones (AOTC). Another plus was since I ordered another item (like LOTR Platinum Edition),... Read full review »

The first thing to get out of the way is that George Lucas is really a fine film-maker. That needs to be got out of the way right at the start, because I haven't had a good laugh in days. Fine, he had his little run, but it was far more because he came out with the right thing at the... Read full review »

It has been proved throughout time to make people do many strange and crazy things, where their senses are not their own, where their minds are separated from their bodies, and where their desires start to become overwhelming. No, there isn't any Jedi mind tricks needed for this pursuit. In fact,... Read full review »

I borrowed a VHS tape of Epidsode II, Attack of the Clones from a neighbor. I had been overseas when it came out last year and missed it entirely. When the tape first began, there was a special "documentary" about all that happened over the course of the story told by C3PO and R2D2. Since I had yet... Read full review »

As the release date for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith got closer, I got more anxious to see it. While waiting to see that movie, I've gone on a Star Wars binge, watching the Star Wars Trilogy, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

Cons Anakin Skywalker is a whiny little baby

I like to think I'm an independent person and so that's why I watched the Star Wars episodes in the order of 3,1,2,4,5,6 when the rest of the world watched them in the order of 4,5,6,1,2,3. However, the real reason is that seeing Revenge of the Sith two weeks ago was my first Star Wars experience... Read full review »

I guess George Lucas got a little concerned over the almost universal hatred that his dedicated fan base had felt over the last Star Wars film, because when he released the sequel Attack Of The Clones, he had all but given up on them and produced a sequel designed to appeal to the lowest common... Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones [VHS]

If The Phantom Menace was the setup, then Attack of the Clones is the plot-progressing payoff, and devoted Star Wars fans are sure to be enthralled. Ten years after Episode I, Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), now a senator, resists the creation of a Republic Army to combat an evil separatist movement. The brooding Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is resentful of his stern Jedi mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), tormented by personal loss, and showing his emerging "dark side" while protecting his new love, Amidala, from would-be assassins. Youthful romance and solemn portent foreshadow the events of the original Star Wars as Count Dooku (a.k.a. Darth Tyranus, played by Christopher Lee) forges an alliance with the Dark Lord of the Sith, while lavish set pieces showcase George Lucas's supreme command of all-digital filmmaking. All of this makes Episode II a technological milestone, savaged by some critics as a bloated, storyless spectacle, but still qualifying as a fan-approved precursor to the pivotal events of Episode III. --Jeff Shannon
