The Bottom Line:
Most hunting and birding needs, an excellent binocular. If you plan to push the day, get something with more light gathering power.
I got a set of these for a fairly hefty discount off retail price. Check the net- good deals are there. Steiner sells them as a hunting binocular, for which they will do a good job. Lenses are coated with a greenish tinted coating that Steiner says will make shades of brown appear more contrasting. This they will do, but I think at the expense of twilight and early morning viewing.
I like Steiner's focus free operation. That is, set it for your eyes and there's no need to focus from about 20 feet to infinity. Minor width adjustments to the binoculars made minor focus adjustments necessary.
