Beats the heck out of a paper map!

Pros Starts up fast (30secs),clear LCD, Touch Screen GUI,good search features
Cons Wish it had a cupholder mount, 128Mb SD card only holds 2 states
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I love it. Only once let me down, in pouring rainstorm on cloudy night. Great for Garage Sales hunting and Road Trips.
I bought it off a online store for under $400 (incl shipping). It came with the device, a power cable, car windshield/cigarette adapter kit, cdroms and manual. The difference between the c320 and c330 is that the latter has a HD in it too.
The StreetPilot is a hoot to 'play' with. It's worked about 95% of the time. The one time it failed was this Friday at about 12:30am (Saturday morning). I was driving back from a sucky hand poker game and it was raining and very cloudy. It never picked up where I was. Got lost for about 5 minutes then found a main road.

I must first state that I bought this as a want. There is no way that I need this for where I live. Fortunately, I had a couple things I could sell to offset the cost. Yeah, it was pretty expensive for something so apparently simple. But what do I know…

Ok, firstly the device is very easy to use. Either key in an address, select a location ( restaurant(Chinese, Greek, etc), hospital, ATM, etc), or pick a Saved location (I am 9238 miles from Garmin's China location)

Once selected the device quickly tells you where to go. It knows which direction you're going in via pinpointing your past locations. Pretty smart!

It has the smarts to "recalculate" a new route if you decide to take a "detour". You can also tell it to take a specific route by using the Detour function. It will also recalculate the new ETA which is shown at the bottom left part of the screen.

When driving it turns off some functions like map zoom. This "Safe mode" can be turned off. :-) When in map view you can turn on a statistic page that lists the time you've been moving, idle and the average and max speeds for that trip.

A few weeks ago, I took a 2.5 hour drive to Fort Wayne, IN without any printed maps. It took me exactly to the destination. It was "fun" to try to beat the "estimated time of arrival" on the main screen.

I recently bought a very nice pair of polarized sunglasses. The screen on the GPS unit is somewhat difficult to look at through them. This is also the same on most PDA's and Blackberry phones. So I guess this is normal. :-)
