Really Great Combo!

Pros Excellent player/recorder at a great price!
Cons None! If you know what your doing!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you know your way around on how to hook up cable boxes to TVs, VCRs, DVD players and stereo's and can read a manual you won't be disappointed!
I did a lot of research on DVD recorders before i chose the
Sylvania. I read a lot of reviews some saying good stuff, others bad. Price and reviews is what made up my mind. I bought mine on eBay with S/H i paid $148.00. I've had mine now for close to 2 months and I think it's an Excellent product. I've made 15 DVDs with no problems, It's really easy to use, with just a touch of the rec. button I was making DVDs off of my Digital DVR cable box! I had 15 movies stored on it and I made 15 flawless DVDs. I haven't made any dubs of my VHS tapes yet but I know they'll also be easy to make. I don't know why some people find it hard to use or to make sense of the manual but i had no problems, they made it clear that you can only record on 4x R-DVDs, I went to OfficeMax and they had a 100 pkg. of DVD-R Starlogic 4x for $26.99 with a $15.00 mail in rebate so I only paid $11.99. I did my rebate over the Internet and got a $15.00 check in a week. The DVD recorder is all ready set up for the best recording settings when you hook it up so just them the way they are. They record in LP which is for 4 and a half hours and the record quality at that speed is great it makes auto chapters every 10Mins. and when your done recording just go to set up, arrow right to Disc, enter, arrow down to edit title, enter then just use the numbers on the remote to chose the letters to spell your title of your DVD using right arrow between each letter and 0 for spacing, when your done spelling, space the rest of the way to delete any unwanted letters, press enter, then yes and your title is written to Disc then press setup to exit then setup again arrow right to Disc, enter, arrow down to finalize, enter, yes and your DVD will be done in no more than 5 Min's. and you have a DVD that will play in any DVD player. (important only the video format can play in any DVD player don't use the VR format) if you have trouble or questions send me an email! feisty_6901@yahoo.com
