The Klipsch F-3 is a another fantastic speaker from our friends at Klipsch. I personally own several of these which I have purchased from Ebay at around $100 a piece. The F-3's are a horn loaded type 2 way speaker design. They feature a 1" aluminum dome tweeter and 2 8" IMG woofers {injection molded graphite). These speakers offer 2 sets of binding posts so that they can be bi-amped for improved connectivity. This allows you to power each speaker with two amplifiers from your receiver or power amp. The sound these speakers produce is huge. When you take power handling of 150 watts rms and 600 watts peak, Combine that with their 97 decibel sensitivity and you have a very capable speaker which produces huge sound even when hooked up to a low power a/v receiver. Since they are horn loaded they definetly are not a neutral sounding speaker. They are brighter and more in your face which you will either love or hate. Personally I think it adds a fantastic punch to the sound which is especially a sensation in rock music. The overall bulid quality of the F-3 is fantastic. They are composed of 3/4" MDF. The quality of the drivers are top notch, and they contain a very high level of damping material. They look great with the grills on or off, personally I prefer to keep them off to give them a more aggressive appearance. I have owned dozens of different speakers from various brands such as JBL, Bose, Sony, Polk and not to mention many others and the bottom line here is if you purchase these you will not believe what you have been missing. Now are they the best speakers one can purchase period? No, It all comes down to how much money you are willing spend. However they simply cannot be beat in their price range.
