great picture - but lousy reception of 1080i NBC signals

Pros best picture I've seen with great video processing
Cons Unable to receive DTV signals from NBC stations off-the-air & worst remote in history
Recommended it? Yes

I really love this TV. I has one of the best
LCD pictures I have seen.

My only problem is the auto-detect of over the air
DTV signal. I get stations out of Detroit, Toledo &
Lansing [I live out in Ann Arbor Michigan].
I get Fox, ABC, PBS and independent station digital... Read full review »

Pros Great TV with a great picture and a good price.
Cons None so far. Now I have to wait for Nascar next year.
Recommended it? Yes

My wife saw an ad for this TV in a K-Mart ad and told me to go Thanksgiving mourning to get this LCD TV, the price was good and we were looking to buy our first LCD TV. Well I told her that I'm not going and I didn't care if It was a one day sale. Well, I went and got one and set it up, programed... Read full review »

Wonderful TV for the price

byAudrey75 May 30, 2007

Pros Great value, clear picture, navigation friendly menus, and attractive
Cons Remote control ugly/not user friendly, not a lot of inputs, and poor manual.
Recommended it? Yes

While the picture is not as sharp as a Sony Bravia, the price tag is a lot smaller. The television is very light, has a somewhat user friendly menu system, and has all of the basics you would desire. The HDMI hook-up is a nice feature that I will be utilizing soon. We bought a wall mount with the... Read full review »

Great Quality - all the TV I need

Pros * AFFORDABLE, but high quality. * Great picture * Strong HD Tuner
Cons * An additional HDMI port * No inputs in the front
Recommended it? Yes

I was reluctant to enter the HDTV market. However, after purchasing this item, I am so glad I did. I needed to upgrade my TV because my 25 inch CRT was simply too bulky for the living room. Although 32inch TV's may seem small by today's standards, it is more than I need for my living room. The... Read full review »

Reliable TV worthy of review.

Pros Value, considering digital TV is far superior to the analog TV quality. Reliability.
Cons I want button for HDMI and tuner (scrolling serially not good) on remote.
Recommended it? Yes

This Olevia (Syntax-Brillian) model 232V is not thin in comparison to other flat panel TVs. This is a big plus however, because the contour shape of the back panel allows for easy grip for handling in the event that this TV needs to be relocated. Also for some reason I decided to dismantle the TV;... Read full review »

Pros Stunning picture quality. Lots of features. HTPC friendly. Looks nice on a wall.
Cons Menu nav a bit odd. Remote = ugly. Speakers = cheap.

I had been tracking the price of this TV for awhile through Circuit City and finally decided to buy when the price dropped. I cannot believe the quality and features you get for the price.

Olevia models are made by Syntax-Brillian corp. The company is gaining popularity for their quality... Read full review »

Working good for me.

Pros Nice picture, sturdy stand.
Cons No paper setup manual. Should have bought 2 when I had the chance.
Recommended it? Yes

I, too, stood in line at Kmart on Thanksgiving for this tv. Last year I had been watching, but didn't buy, the 532H model. The 532H is nearly 5 inches narrower than the 232V model. I didn't know this when I bought the 232V model. Instead of cutting a hole in my entertainment center I had to go by a... Read full review »

Pros Lightweight Set, Excellent Picture, Good Price!
Cons Hard to compare prices with so many models styles

My husband is a satellite television installer, so he sees the pictures on HD televisions all day and is a pretty good judge of picture quality. Of course, Sony has an excellent picture and I would guess is most likely rated number one, and we have one of those sitting in our family room. It is a... Read full review »

Cons remote unresponsive and slow - Dead after 18 months

****Updated - July 2008.
The Syntax Brillian recently announced they are folding and spinning off all of their product lines. This was timed perfectly with my Olevia TV completely breaking. I no longer have any picture, just audio. The TV was 18 months old and not covered under warrenty. The... Read full review »

Superb image quality -- AWFUL HUMMING SOUND!

Pros Great image quality, amazing price.
Cons Continuous, headache-inducing, high-pitched hum, awful menu/remote system.

The Olevias are so much cheaper than just about any of the "Big Names" but seem to have great image quality, so I figured why not give them a shot?

Sure enough, the picture quality was fantastic -- to my eyes, as good as S**y, P***sonic, etc. In fact, the local electronics store where I... Read full review »
