Awesome TV for a bedroom or person on a budget. **updated, did not last two years, don't buy it.

The Syntax Brillian recently announced they are folding and spinning off all of their product lines. This was timed perfectly with my Olevia TV completely breaking. I no longer have any picture, just audio. The TV was 18 months old and not covered under warrenty. The manufacturer said I can ship it back and for around $300 (with shipping) I can have it fixed. No Way!
The problem is likely a bad mainboard or invertor board, which evidentally is a common problem with these TVs made in China. I replaced the TV with a sharp, and to be honest the Sharp does not look near as good as the Olevia did, but it will likely last longer!

I bought the Olevia s232 LCD television during a black Friday sale for $559. I still see the TV often advertised below the $650 mark. If you want a whole lot of Television for you money, this is the right choice!
The picture on this television is spectacular. Take a look at it compared to another name brand TV and you will see that it is on par with the best of them. For the price, this is hands down the best bargain out there.
There is a cool unadvertised feature of this television. It has a tuner in it that picks up HD broadcasts over you standard television provider's cable line. In other words, you get your local TV channels in high-definition without paying for the digital cable box that most providers charge you for. You will not get the premium channels, (like hbo, discovery etc.)
This TV has an amazing picture. It has plenty of connections in the back so that you could hook up anything from a computer to a DVD player with ease.
I have three complaints with the unit. First off, the remote is not good. I am not sure if it is the remote itself or the television, but response time for changing the channel is horribly slow.
The second complaint is that switching between inputs of the TV is slow and delayed. So if you hit the input button, it may take 4 seconds to switch to your DVD, and then you have to cycle through them all to get back to where you started.
The last complaint is just the lack of a feature that other TV's have. The TV does a good job of picking up the station identification (fox, abc, etc.) but it does not display the name of the program that you are watching.
